I stole this image from someone on the web. I'd give proper credit, but I'm not sure who it belongs to. Anyway, realize that I didn't take the photo, and I'm not trying to steal it - it's just appropriate for how I feel today.
I DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO WORK TOMORROW!!!!
This shouldn't bring me so much glee. But, work has been so (horrific, horrible, hateful, awful, makes me sob every day on the way home, sad, depressing, failure inspiring) hard lately that an extra day off is wonderful. Without anything major hanging over our heads. Nothing. I just have to go to WalMart and maybe the bookstore.
Not working brings me glee. GLEE, I tell you! And something even more exciting? I don't have to go to work on Friday or the following Monday either. I know! I only have a 3 day (hell hole) work week! That so rocks!
I'm thinking that maybe work is maybe stressing me out.
Oh yeah, I'm taking a PHP and MySQL class for fun. (programming and database class) It's been a LOOOOOOONG time since I've done any programming. And, I've missed it. It surprises me. But, I used to really enjoy the challenge of a good program. So, I'm liking my class. Maybe I can make the website that I want in the way that I want to do it. Maybe...
So, I'm feeling happy and refreshed and joyful. And it's all because I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Which says something about the state of my employeed life.

From NaComLeavMo. *jumping around to celebrate with you* I'm not going to work tomorrow either! :) I'm sorry your job is so horrific, horrible, hateful, and a whole host of other bad words. We spend too much of our lives at work to be miserable there. I hope you can find your way into a more fulfilling spot!
Hooray for no work!
That programming class actually sounds like fun. I was a computer science major in college, but I haven't done any real programming since then. I hadn't realized I missed it until now.
Hi Beth A. I was a CS major in college too! I probably haven't programmed in 8-10 years. My folks make fun of me and say that my brain turned off when I became a manager. PHP is fun and easy! Yay for other women CS majors!
Also here from NaComLeavMo: Basic programming was part of my undergraduate degree back in the day and after having to write a simple Point Of Sale program that took me days and weeks of total freak out I decided that I was not cut out for programming (even though I did manage to pass). Simply not enough logic in my brain to go round.
Sorry to hear about the sucky job and hope your days off meet all your expectations.
Hmmmm...taking programming classes for fun? Is it bad that when the conversation gets techie that my eyes glaze over? (although, interestingly to me, I know what you are talking about so it must be getting absorbed!)
Yay for days off, I love your little disclaimer about the picture.
Working a job that you don't like is a difficult position. Hopefully it gets better for you. Remember you always have options.
On the bright side I bet you enjoy every single minute that you have off from work. Sometimes we forget how good freedom feels and this bad job will remind you to appreciate your time off, even after you move on and find something better.
